Dear Y Team,
As we move through this season—marked by both Easter and Passover—I want to take a moment to reflect with you on the powerful momentum we are building together across Los Angeles. These traditions, each in their own way, call us to reflect on transformation, liberation, and the strength of community—values that are deeply aligned with our work and with who we are as a Y.
In recent months, you have driven meaningful strides in how we serve our communities. Through deeper data evaluation, more intentional integration meetings, expanded trainings, and impactful events that uplift our most vulnerable neighbors, we are continuously improving the way we show up each day. This is what it looks like to live our commitment to ensuring that everyone who enters our centers feels a true sense of belonging.
At the LA Y, we are more than a place to exercise or participate in programs—we are a Center for Community Well-Being. Because of you, we see that come to life every day: individuals growing stronger in body and mind, families finding stability and support, and communities coming together in meaningful connection. This work is intentional, and it is accelerating.
This morning’s Good Friday Breakfast was a beautiful demonstration of the profound way our work is woven into the lives of hundreds of thousands across our city. It reflected not only the impact we have on those we serve, but also the transformation that happens within each of us as we carry this mission forward.
This month also marks the beginning of many of our Annual Campaigns and launch of our newest membership campaign. As families across LA begin preparing for summer, this is our moment to shine even brighter — welcoming more people into our centers and expanding our impact as a hub for belonging, growth, and well-being.
