Dear Y team members,
As we move forward in 2025, I want to express my deep appreciation for your dedication to our Y’s mission. Your hard work continues to uplift our communities, from our long-term fire response efforts to the successful launch of spring sports, ensuring every young athlete has the chance to grow and thrive.
This past Saturday, I was so honored to be a part of the Youth Development Summit. Seeing the over 800 youth-serving LA Y staff gathered at Torrance High School was a true inspiration. The connection, energy, and dedication of our Y team was so present and is exactly why the Y is so special and so impactful. Watch the recap video here. Huge shout out to the Youth Development team for putting together another successful summit. |

So much has happened, and we still have so much ahead. Today, we celebrate girls' equity in sports at our 4th Annual Girls Empowerment Day. The event welcomes over 4,000 middle school girls and high schoolers from LAUSD East thanks to the support of dozens of sponsors and partners who believe in the event, and our mission.
The momentum from the start of the year continues and while I’m sure at moments it feels like too much – please take a moment to celebrate where we are and what you have accomplished. The Y is living our mission as the Center for Community Well-Being and we are only going to get bigger, reach more people, and continue forward to ensure that everyone has a positive Y experience.
Lastly, to be more available and up to date on the questions and feedback of our Y team we have created an inbox exclusively for employees – ceo@ymcala.org. This was created to ensure that your voices don’t get lost in daily traffic and that I am able to give the attention it deserves. Please feel free to send me a note, a question, or feedback anytime.
It all starts with YOU. Thank you for ensuring the Y remains a place of belonging, growth, and opportunity for all every day.
With gratitude,
|
