The Team Member of the Month models the Y’s Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility and leverages their influence and insight to pursue positive change.

Healthy Kids Day: A Day of Play for LA! |
| Healthy Kids Day 2026 will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and is anticipated to welcome more than 6,500 children, youth, families, and community members from across the Los Angeles region. As the LA Y’s largest annual community impact event, Healthy Kids Day provides a unique platform to deepen relationships with local businesses, foundations, and community partners who are aligned with our Center for Community Well-Being strategy in the areas of healthy living, youth development and social impact. | On April 10, 2026, the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles and YMCA México formally announced a landmark Binational Partnership Agreement during a special event at the Avila Adobe on Olvera Street. This historic moment for our movement reinforces our shared commitment to strengthening communities on both sides of the border through our Center for Community Well-Being framework, with a focus on belonging, education equity, civic engagement, economic stability, and health equity. Together, this partnership expands our collective reach and impact across all 29 centers and 220 program sites, further positioning the Y as a leader in building stronger, more connected communities. |

We're excited to launch a new series called Change Leaders. A Change Leader is someone who has responded to an important, yet unmet need - ultimately contributing towards growth within another person, program or team.
This month, we're shining the spotlight on Joel Martinez from the Anderson Munger Y! Joel has done an incredible job leading the Youth and Government delegation for AMY while also supporting delegates from the Hollywood Y. Joel is a steady, trusted leader who invests in his delegates each day and consistently leads with encouragement, integrity, and care. He exemplified that leadership when Anderson Munger delegate Devon Jasiukonis was announced. Joel was the first to congratulate him and walked alongside him to the stage, offering encouragement every step of the way.
