Dear LA Y Team Members,

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with all of you. After months of hard work and anticipation, we are delighted to announce the grand opening of our new Leadership Development Center at the Mid Valley Family Y. This state-of-the-art facility is more than just a building; it represents our commitment to nurturing talent, fostering growth, and preparing our leaders for the challenges ahead.

The Leadership Development Center will serve as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and learning. It's designed to provide our team members with the resources, training, and inspiration they need to excel in their roles and propel our Y forward.

The Y has historically been a place for people to go to be well and to be the best version of themselves and this notion isn’t exclusive to our facility or program members. My expectation is that our employees receive certain benefits through their employment partnership at the Y. You are our best investment. While these benefits do include monetary perks like discounts and referral bonuses, they also include the benefit of self and professional development which holds the most value and payoff in my opinion. These benefits are ever-evolving but what remains a top priority is that our LA Y Team Members are provided with frequent and varying opportunities to grow to the next level, whatever they identify that level to be.

Intentionally designed to be calm, inspiring and as distraction-free as possible, this space is a wonderful place for you – the great minds and forward-thinkers of the LA Y - to innovate and establish our next steps as an organization. The new Leadership Development Center is a place to come together, to learn and to share. It’s what we do best at the LA Y and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have accomplished together already and of what we will accomplish going forward.

Please take a look at our learning calendar to get a feel for what types of development opportunities might interest you and be on the lookout for notices of different learning and development experiences coming from our People, Culture and Development team. Take a lunchtime workplace wellness class, participate in a leadership cohort and when you’re ready, lead a class of your own. We want this to be a place that you can take the steps to become whoever you want to be and we are here to support you in that journey. We are here to build a Culture of Belonging where we are One Y, One Team, and this is Our Y. This is a huge step in that direction.

Have a wonderful July full of laughter and adventure,

Victor
