Dear Erin,

After a busy summer of exploration and fun – leading into a full fall – November starts the season of gathering and connecting with those we hold dearest to our hearts. We find both traditional and creative ways to bring people together with the goal of being part of something bigger than our own individual selves. November is the time when we can return to home base, exhale, and recharge.  It is a time when we can feel the most alive with friends and family by our side, doing the things we love.

At the Y, we can significantly impact our communities because of the meaningful connections we create every day through our work. As a people-focused organization, the relationships we foster – through shared experiences and our culture of belonging – are at the core of who we are. Each of you plays a critical role in our impactful work through social impact, healthy living, and youth development. Because of every one of you, the LA Y is the center for community well-being.

This month, I encourage each of you to take time for yourselves to recharge, rejuvenate, and reflect on the tremendous impact we collectively have on our communities throughout Los Angeles County.

In closing, as we embark on the season of thanks and gratitude, please know that I am extremely grateful for all that you do for the LA Y and the communities we serve.
