Happy New Year to all of you! I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits as we step into the new year.
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere excitement about the opportunities that await us in the coming year. As we move ahead, I am truly looking forward to working closely with each and every one of you in partnership to advance and transform our communities. Together, we have the power to be the center of community well-being and make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
The LA Y’s Center for Community Well-Being Strategic Framework is taking shape. Within it, our key initiatives are coordinated – no longer in silos. In the Youth Development Strategy, we are blending all the youth and family programming we already do, into an interconnected plan, handing off from one age group to the next with greater intentionality. We will have an equitable pipeline with an added emphasis on young adults, ages 18-24. The Social Impact Strategy is promoting a holistic approach to community wellbeing through five core social impact areas: civic engagement, health equity, educational equity, belonging and economic stability. Our goal is an equitable community where all can achieve optimal health and well-being. A Healthy Living Strategy is still in the works. All of these components will coordinate to position our Y as the Center for Community Well-Being, in geographic areas where our facilities and program centers are located, and beyond, reaching all corners of the Los Angeles region. In 2024, as the Center for Community Well-Being, the LA Y will involve members in new ways, encouraging us all to be well, do good, invest in community and lead change for the better.
Our collective efforts have the potential to create positive change and foster an environment where everyone can thrive. By leveraging our strengths and working collaboratively, we can bring about meaningful transformations that benefit not only our immediate community but also the larger society. I am eager to combine our passions, skills, and resources to create innovative programs, initiatives, and events that will enrich the lives of those around us. By being united in purpose, we can truly make a difference and leave a lasting legacy. I am looking forward to the journey ahead and all the incredible achievements we will make together. Let's embrace the new year with enthusiasm, determination, and a commitment to excellence.
